Michael Zumpano

About teacher Michael ZumpanoA native of Queens, New York, Michael earned a M.S. in Education.

Currently the Physical Education Teacher at three Austin schools, Michael brings more than 12 years experience in both public and private schools teaching children Pre-K through High School. He believes that many children learn to think more clearly through movement.

One of the schools he taught at was the Krishnamurti school in Ojai, California called the Oak Grove. Krishnamurti was a philosopher who believed that education should emphasize the cultivation of the mind and heart, not only academics.

No stranger to sports and movement, Michael loved sports as a child, taught at sports camps and coached athletic teams as an adult.  He is certified to teach yoga through IKYTA and YKI.

Michael is also certified in CPR and First Aid.
